ARC2513 BUILDING CONSTRUCTION 2

Project 1:

 Understanding Forces in Skeletal Structure

The objective of this project was to understand skeletal structures and see how it reacts when under a load. From that creating and demonstrating how a skeletal construction works.

As a group we were to make a skeletal tower out of pop sticks which should be about 30cm in height. The maximum amount of pop sticks that was allowed 100. No sort of glue was allowed to be used in the tower. We only used thread a source to hold the pop sticks.

Project 2
UNDERSTANDING FORCES IN SOLID AND SURFACE STRUCTURE

In this project as a group we had to create a surface structure through which we could demonstrate the understanding of load distribution in the particular structural system. Suitable scales and materials were used to make the model resemble to the real structure.

The surface given to us was the Masjid Negara of Malaysia.
We had made 3d modelling to experiment how to construct the structure and later started with the final model.

Individual
The second part of the project 2 was an indivual module in which I had to choose a certain part of the construction and show a detailed drawing on how things are made in it.
