ARC1323 CULTURE & HISTORY 2

Project

Architecture Heritage Building Analysis

Through this project I have deepened my knowledge in understanding of architectural theory through consideration of intentions, patterns, concepts, disciplines and architectural language and contextual relationships of architectural history.

The project required to choose a heritage building and in a group of 4 to study and make observations through architectural analysis. A research essay of 2000-2500 words was to be produced that included the heritage building's research on how it was influenced by materials, climatic conditions, local technology and cultural beliefs. The findings of the case study was strictly made by interviews, library research, local institutions, pictures and sketches.

Our group's case study was on a Mosque located in Klang area known as the "Sultan Suleiman Royal Mosque"

The next part of the project was to produce presentation boards individually from topics like
1)Concept
2)User and Context
3)Responses
4)Changes

For me, I chose to do "Responses" for my individual board through which i had learned what kind of response does the Building Sultan Suleiman Royal Mosque have to its environment, climate  and culture.

The End
