ARC1713 DESIGN COMMUNICATION

Design Communication is an interesting subject that introduces us to various situations to understand the core skills for communication of architectural design through various modes like freehand, constructed drawings held outdoors and indoors of studio.

Project 1A

Onsite Sketching

This Project allowed me to understand and develop skills in visualizing of space and proportions through free hand sketching. The project also showed me a way to use sketches as a way of communication.

Project 1B

Tonal Values

Through part B of the project 1 i was able to learn the use of depth and tone  when sketching. 4 types of Hatching techniques allowed me to acquire the art of 3 dimensions.

Project 2A

Orthographic Projections, Plans, Sections, Elevations

I was required to produce Plans, Sections and Elevations of the place Barcelona Pavilion through which I was able to learn the use of traditional and modern methods of drawing. By the use of traditional equipment i was able to produce and demonstrate the art of architectural drawings in line weights, line qualities, etc.

Project 2B

Axonometric Projections

This project was a project  that allowed me to learn how to project axonometric drawings and I'm able to express spatial ideas and architectural detail in three-dimension through this projection. This drawing here is an exploded axonometry which enables us to view important details e.g. below a roof.

Project 2C

Perspective Drawings
Black and white Scanned

In this particular project I have learned a lot about how to bring about 3 dimensional drawings by understand the space. The use of 1 point and 2 point perspective allowed me to look through things easily where the 2 point would allow me to focus on the exterior while the 1 point allowing me to understand the interior.
